2027 Lido Calendar - Art Deco Calendar by Rebecca Pymar

A Limited Edition 2027 Calendar by Artist Rebecca Pymar celebrating the Lidos of Great Britain. Immerse yourself in a year of Lidos, some dating back to the Victorian times. The UK Lido boom happened in the 1930s when leisure time started to be celebrated and prioritised. Public facilities like Lidos started to pop up with many taking on a strong Art Deco look. This movement was happening across the world as ideas of modernism started to creep in. Clean lines, symmetry, curved windows, cruise liner style projections like Saltdean Lido. It was a very exciting and colourful time.

Front and back covers Printed on 350gsm Matt Uncoated Board. Inner Pages Printed on 250gsm Uncoated matt paper, which is very easy to write on! Spiral Bound.

August · Portobello Lido - a huge Olympic pool that used to be in Edinburgh, sadly a victim to the declining numbers of lidos in the second half of the 20th century. This one looked really special.

September · Tinside Lido - right on the edge of Plymouth with the lighthouse in view over the time, this saltwater swimming pool is a beauty.

October · Brockwell Lido - another iconic London Lido. London has the highest concentration of outdoor swimming spots in the UK and it keeps growing!

November · Bristol Lido - this is a beautiful early 20th century Lido in swanky Clifton, Bristol, designed by the same architect firm as Thames lido, you can feel the traditional Victorian and Edwardian inspirations coming through, a real departure from what was the come in the 1930s.

December · Thames Lido a beautifully preserved Victorian lido not far from London in Reading.
